The study session aims to introduce the interconnected topics of environmental sustainability and human rights, especially through Council of Europe’s Human Rights Education and the human rights approach in order to advocate for climate justice and a sustainable future.
The specific objectives are:
- Raising awareness on the connection between environmental protection/sustainability and respect of human rights; Further mainstreaming the topic;
- Exchanging opinions, knowledge and good practices; Ensuring mutual learning between the young people attending;
- Introducing the concepts of Human Rights Education and rights-based approach to young people who had no previous knowledge on them;
- Training young people who are relatively new to the youth field and not yet particularly active in their societies, but would like to become more active;
